What is Crowns?

Crowns is a logic puzzle played on a grid of coloured patches. You place exactly one crown in every row, every column and every patch, and no two crowns may touch — not even diagonally. It belongs to the same family as "queens" and "star battle" puzzles.

Is Crowns free?

Yes. The daily board, the full archive and unlimited practice boards are all free, with no account and nothing to download.

When does the daily Crowns puzzle reset?

A new board appears every day at midnight UTC. Everyone in the world gets the same board, so you can compare times with friends.

Does every Crowns board have exactly one solution?

Yes. Every board is checked by a solver before it is published: it has one solution and can be finished by logic alone, without guessing.

Can I play more than one Crowns puzzle a day?

Yes. Unlimited mode generates a fresh board whenever you want, in sizes from 6×6 to 9×9, and every past daily board stays playable in the archive.

How do I share my result without spoiling the puzzle?

After solving, the share button copies your time and a picture of the board made of coloured squares. It shows the patches but never where the crowns go.
